How accurate is Google AdWords?
Brandt Dainow writes his experience using Google AdWords and how he found that Google probably has tracked the clicks incorrectly.
What I thought interesting is the fact that both the software he uses to track clicks, InSite, and Google Analytics returned the same numbers but AdWords report had the numbers differently.
Yet, Google claims to achieve 100 percent accuracy in tracking clicks. Is it possible with such a huge system, tracking billions worth of advertising revenue?
Google AdWords API registration now available
Google announced last week that they have opened the new registration process that supports the AdWords API Beta program revisions they plan to launch on October 1, 2006. All AdWords API token-holders will need to register by September 15 to ensure that their developer tokens are not temporarily disabled when the program revisions are rolled out on October 1, 2006.
Google is giving basic SEO lessons
Adam Lasnik of Google, Inc. is going to give out a class on September 18, 2006 about Optimizing Your Websites for Google Search. The basic SEO class costs $30 and is absolutely a steal. The catch is, you must be one of the government employees to register.
MSN adds behavioral targeting to search
MSN began incorporating behavioral targeting features into its paid search program, adCenter. With the new service, advertisers can arrange to have their pay-per-click ads shown to users who MSN has identified as likely purchasers based on their Web-surfing history.
AdWords for Mobile
The next time you search the web using Google on your mobile phone, you will see those 3-line AdWords ads next to the search results. Yes, Google has unveiled text-based Mobile Ads for mobile devices. Currently, the service is available in users based in US, UK, Japan, and Germany.
Yahoo! Toolbar for Firefox
At last, those Yahoo! Toolbar users have another reason to migrate to Firefox. To cater to the Firefox 2.0 users, Yahoo! has just released Yahoo! Toolbar 1.3 for Firefox with Live Search feature. Now when you use the toolbar, you will see the most popular searches that are relevant to what you’ve typed. Cool.
